WWE Blasted For “Burying” Their Own Stone Cold: Russo Furious Over Rhea Ripley’s Treatment

WWE just got called out big time—and the criticism couldn’t be harsher. Former head writer Vince Russo didn’t hold back when he accused the company of completely misusing one of the biggest stars on RAW today: Rhea Ripley.

Russo, never one to sugarcoat his opinions, compared Ripley to none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin, insisting that WWE has the modern-day version of The Texas Rattlesnake on their hands… but they’re wasting her potential with blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos.

“It’s like having Austin at his peak and only showing him in backstage clips,” Russo said on Legion of RAW. “Rhea should be running the show, not hiding in the shadows.”

Rhea Ripley Deserves the Spotlight

Since stepping away from the Women’s World Title chase, Ripley has found herself floating on the sidelines. She’s still one of the most over performers on the roster — fans want to see her dominate — yet WWE has been booking her in meaningless seconds of screen time instead of big storylines.

Russo argued that it’s not just a bad decision — it’s a complete waste of one of WWE’s most bankable stars. He even compared the situation to watching Stone Cold just “wander backstage with no purpose.”

A Creative Wake-Up Call

Ripley’s presence, charisma, and connection with the crowd make her tailor-made for top-tier storylines. Russo believes WWE creative is dropping the ball, and even suggested she might benefit from a move to SmackDown, where fresh rivalries could reignite her momentum.

At the end of the day, Russo’s message was clear: Rhea Ripley should be leading RAW, not lurking in the background. And if WWE doesn’t fix it soon, they’re squandering the chance to create the kind of magic fans haven’t seen since the Attitude Era.
