WWE Locker Room Truth Finally Revealed? The Miz Breaks Silence on JBL Bullying Rumors

The Miz is opening up about one of the most talked-about backstage stories from his early WWE career — and his latest comments are turning the narrative on its head.

For years, WWE fans have heard stories about The Miz being hazed when he first joined the company. However, the former WWE Champion is now publicly defending fellow wrestling veteran JBL, saying the reality was very different from what many believe.

Speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, The Miz revealed that JBL was not the one who made his early WWE days difficult. Instead, he described JBL as someone who actually offered guidance and encouragement when he needed it most.

According to Miz, JBL pulled him aside and gave him advice to help him succeed, praising his work and pushing him to keep improving. The A-Lister noted that while JBL often gets labeled as a bully, his personal experience with him was surprisingly positive.

Miz went on to claim that most of the harsh treatment he received came from wrestlers who were not firmly established on the roster. He suggested that some mid-card talents targeted him to try and raise their own standing in the locker room, especially because of his reality TV background from The Real World.

He explained that certain wrestlers wanted to prove themselves by going after the “new guy,” using stiff matches and intimidation tactics in hopes of getting noticed by WWE management.

Despite Miz’s current stance, past comments from JBL add another layer to the story. In a 2010 interview on the Right After Wrestling radio show in Canada, JBL openly admitted to hazing Miz. At the time, JBL said he didn’t regret his actions and believed hazing younger wrestlers was sometimes justified.

With Miz now sharing his side of the story, fans are once again debating what really happened behind the scenes during his early WWE run. The new comments offer a more complex picture of WWE’s locker room culture during that era — one that may not be as simple as hero versus villain.
