Top WWE Executive Finally Admits He Regrets Ending The Undertaker’s Legendary WrestleMania Streak

Nearly 12 years after one of the most shocking moments in WWE history, the decision to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak is still being questioned—this time by someone from inside WWE’s creative brain trust.

Speaking directly to The Undertaker on a recent episode of the Six Feet Under podcast, longtime WWE executive Bruce Prichard openly admitted that he never agreed with the call to break the streak at WrestleMania 30.

Prichard revealed that he even reached out to Vince McMahon on the night it happened, despite not being employed by WWE at the time. His message was simple and honest. He told McMahon he wished the streak had been left untouched, even though he acknowledged there were reasons behind the decision and praised the rest of the show.

The moment in question came in 2014, when Brock Lesnar stunned the world by handing The Undertaker his first-ever WrestleMania loss after 22 straight victories. The result sent shockwaves through fans and the locker room alike and instantly became one of WWE’s most debated creative calls.

While Prichard still believes Lesnar was the only believable choice if the streak had to end, he made it clear that he personally would have gone in a different direction. Brock’s real-world fighting credibility made him an understandable pick, but not necessarily the right one in Prichard’s eyes.

The Undertaker would later suffer one more WrestleMania defeat, losing to Roman Reigns three years later in Orlando. That match was heavily teased as his final farewell, but The Deadman would return several times before officially retiring.

In the end, The Undertaker closed his legendary WrestleMania career with a remarkable 25-2 record—but even now, one of WWE’s top creative minds believes the streak should have remained untouchable forever.
