Update on Penta’s Injury on WWE Raw – Did It Change ‘Last Time Is Now’ Tournament Plans?
WWE fans were left stunned on Monday Night Raw after Penta suffered a painful shoulder injury during his tournament match against Solo Sikoa. The Luchador star couldn’t finish the match, leading many to wonder if his sudden exit would affect the ‘Last Time Is Now’ Tournament.
According to reports, Penta got hurt very early in the match — just four minutes in — after landing awkwardly on his shoulder while delivering a hurricanrana to Sikoa. What was supposed to be a 12-minute match ended abruptly, and the medical team immediately stopped him from continuing, even though Penta reportedly wanted to keep fighting.
Was the Tournament Impacted?
Despite the unfortunate injury, backstage sources confirm that WWE’s long-term plans remain unchanged. Bryan Alvarez reported that Solo Sikoa was already booked to win and advance to the semifinals to face Gunther.

“Solo Sikoa was scheduled to beat Penta, so nothing changed in the tournament,” Alvarez stated.
Earlier in the night, Gunther secured his spot in the semifinals by defeating Carmelo Hayes in a strong performance. Hayes didn’t win, but he showed he can compete with top-tier WWE stars and is expected to get more major opportunities soon.
What’s Next in the Tournament?
Two more quarterfinal matches are lined up for this Friday’s SmackDown:
- Jey Uso vs. Rusev – a showdown with years of history behind it
- LA Knight vs. a mystery opponent – originally meant to face Sheamus, who is out due to injury
Since SmackDown was pre-recorded in Denver last week because of the Thanksgiving break, full spoilers are already circulating online for fans who don’t want to wait.
How Is Penta Doing Now?
At this point, the only confirmed update is that Penta was eager to continue the match, but WWE’s medical staff took no risks and stopped him immediately. Fans are awaiting further news on his condition, and updates will be shared as soon as WWE releases more details.
Who Will Face John Cena in His Final Match?
John Cena’s legendary WWE career is close to its end. He will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio this Saturday at Survivor Series: WarGames, held in Dom’s hometown of San Diego.
After that, Cena’s farewell match will take place on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington D.C.
The winner of the ‘Last Time Is Now’ Tournament will earn the massive honor of facing Cena in his retirement match. Four competitors remain — with Gunther standing tall as the favorite. The Ring General has already retired one Hall of Famer this year… and he’s two wins away from possibly ending the career of the greatest of all time.
