She Begged Triple H to Let Her Fight While Doctors Said No – The Real Story Behind Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE Title Win

On paper, Stephanie Vaquer’s first WWE championship win looks like a perfect fairy tale. She made history as the first Chilean and South American woman to hold a world title. She defeated IYO SKY. She’s now headed to WrestleMania 42 against Liv Morgan.

But the real story behind that night is terrifying.

In a raw new interview on the Insight podcast with Chris Van Vliet, Vaquer opened up about a health scare that nearly destroyed everything she had worked for.

Here is what fans did not see.

Before her big win at Wrestlepalooza in September 2025, Vaquer had already been forced to pull out of the Clash in Paris event because of a sudden, severe illness. She was heartbroken. WWE promised to keep her storyline alive, but then history repeated itself.

“One week before [Wrestlepalooza], I get sick again,” Vaquer admitted.

The WWE medical team gave her the crushing news. She could not compete. Not only that, but she had already booked a flight and tickets for her father to watch her live. The dream was slipping away right in front of her.

But Vaquer refused to give up.

She went straight to the top. She personally begged Triple H and other WWE officials to let her fight through the pain. “Please just let me go, I can do that,” she told them.

Against medical advice, she got the green light. And she did not just compete. She won the Women’s World Championship with her father watching from the front row.

Since that night, she has defended her title against Raquel Rodriguez and Nikki Bella. But now, with Liv Morgan waiting at WrestleMania, one thing is clear: Stephanie Vaquer has already proven she is willing to risk everything for that championship.
