WWE Fans Are Debating The Undeniable Truth About Asuka’s Legacy After Backlash

If this really is the beginning of the end for Asuka, WWE fans are not letting her walk away without settling one massive debate.

The conversation has exploded following WWE Backlash, with everyone wondering if The Empress of Tomorrow is winding down her career, taking a long break, or just shifting into a part-time role. But rather than just saying goodbye, one question keeps popping up in every forum and comment section.

Is Asuka the greatest Japanese superstar in WWE history?

Let’s be real for a second. Her resume is already Hall of Fame worthy. Multiple world titles, the first women’s Royal Rumble winner, an undefeated streak that felt untouchable, and a Grand Slam champion. She has done it all.

But here is where the debate gets spicy.

When you look at the competition, the list of names who could challenge her is surprisingly short.

Meiko Satomura? Incredible legend, but within WWE specifically, her NXT UK run just doesn’t compare. Bull Nakano? She held the WWF Women’s Championship, but her time in the spotlight was a flash compared to Asuka’s marathon.

Some people try to bring up Antonio Inoki, but honestly, does his legendary status outside WWE really count for this specific conversation? Probably not.

Then you have Shinsuke Nakamura. A Royal Rumble win is huge, but Asuka has one too. And while Nakamura failed to win his WrestleMania world title match, so did she. The difference? Asuka actually captured multiple world titles. Nakamura’s midcard and NXT reigns just don’t stack up here. Sorry, King.

Kairi Sane? Tajiri? All amazing. But nowhere near the same trophy case.

That leaves only one real rival.

Iyo Sky.

This is where it gets interesting because Sky is still active. She is still collecting achievements. Both have Money in the Bank. Both are Grand Slam champions. It is a ridiculously tight race.

But right now, Asuka still holds the edge for three specific reasons. That undefeated streak no one else has touched. The inaugural women’s Royal Rumble win that Iyo hasn’t grabbed yet. And an NXT Women’s Championship reign that ended without her even being pinned.

If Iyo goes on another tear over the next two years, this answer could change. But as of today?

Asuka is still the queen.

Nobody wants to see her finished. But if this is the final chapter, what a career it has been.

Now I have to ask you. Do you agree, or is Iyo Sky already better than Asuka ever was? Drop your take below.
