LA Knight’s WWE Return Secretly Hidden in Ethan Page’s Raw Promo?

The Megastar has been missing from WWE television for weeks. His last appearance came the night after WrestleMania 42 during a tense backstage moment with Gunther. WWE originally planned a program between Knight and The Ring General, but those plans shifted when creative decided to move forward with Gunther versus Cody Rhodes instead. That left LA Knight without a clear direction.

But something happened on Monday Night Raw that might change everything.

During a promo exchange between Ethan Page and Penta, eagle-eyed fans may have caught a clue about what is next for the former United States Champion.

Ethan Page Makes His Move for the Intercontinental Title

The IC Title picture is getting crowded. Je’Von Evans, Rusev, and now Ethan Page are all chasing Penta’s championship. Both Rusev and Evans came up short in their ladder match attempt at WrestleMania 42 Sunday. Now Page is positioning himself as the next challenger.

On last week’s Raw, Page teamed with Rusev to defeat Evans and Penta. All Ego scored the pinfall over the champion himself. That victory gave Page all the confidence he needed to issue a challenge on Monday night.

Page came to the ring and demanded a title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Penta accepted without hesitation. But before anything could be made official, Rusev interrupted to state his own case. That brought out Evans, who went on to defeat The Bulgarian Brute in a singles match that followed.

While Page’s challenge is now officially on the table, it remains unclear whether Penta will defend against him one-on-one or if more competitors will be added. But the most interesting detail from Page’s promo had nothing to do with the Intercontinental Championship at all.

The One Word That Gives It All Away

During his challenge to Penta in Knoxville, Page laid out his argument for why he deserves the title.

“You are a man of your word, and I’ll give you that. Look at you. You are a fighting champion. You are ready to go right now. Me? I am not. I don’t think you understand what championship you hold, buddy. That is the Intercontinental Championship. That is the token of excellence in all of WWE. Every megastar in this company’s history has had to hold that to prove their point. And papi, you are looking at the next megastar. So that championship needs the spotlight it deserves. Just like me.”

Notice the word megastar. Page put extra emphasis on it each time he said it.

That is the exact nickname of LA Knight.

The implication seems clear. WWE may be planting the seeds for a collision course between two of the most brash, confident talkers on the roster. A program to determine who the true megastar of WWE really is.

Why LA Knight Fans Are Used to Disappointment

Following LA Knight is not for the faint of heart. His momentum has been stopped and started more times than anyone can count. His reactions to constantly shifting creative plans have become legendary moments on WWE Unreal.

Even going into WrestleMania, Knight did not have a locked-in match. At one point, a program with Brock Lesnar was discussed. That never materialized. Instead, Knight teamed with The Usos to face iShowSpeed, Logan Paul, and Austin Theory on the first night of WrestleMania weekend.

The night after Mania, Knight confronted Gunther backstage. The Ring General had just beaten Seth Rollins and mentioned that Paul Heyman owed him a favor. Knight stepped in and called out Gunther for needing Bron Breakker’s help to win. He made it clear he wanted a shot at the world title too.

WWE never followed up on that thread. Heyman instead secured Gunther a match with Cody Rhodes at Clash In Italy. And LA Knight simply vanished from television.

Some fans started worrying about roster cuts. Others feared creative had simply given up.

What Could Be Coming Next

Megastar fans can breathe easy. LA Knight is still very much with WWE. And all signs point to him entering the Intercontinental Title scene very soon.

The working idea within WWE creative is to have Ethan Page win the IC title first. That would set up a program between Page and Knight built around Page calling himself the megastar while Knight holds the trademark to that name.

The Intercontinental Championship has eluded LA Knight throughout his entire career. If Page wins the gold, Knight chasing that title for the first time could be the fresh direction his character has needed.

Nothing is confirmed yet. WWE plans change constantly. But for the first time in weeks, LA Knight finally has a path forward.
