Sting Just Made a Drastic Change to His Look That Fans Never Expected to See

After decades of the iconic black and white face paint, Sting is finally showing the world a different side of himself.

The WWE Hall of Famer and AEW legend made his first major public appearance of 2026 at WrestleCon Minneapolis, and he looked nothing like the “Stinger” fans grew up watching. For years, Sting had promised that 2025 would be his final year wearing the legendary war paint at fan conventions, and he stuck to that promise.

His entire “2025 or Never” farewell tour was built around giving fans one last chance to see the classic look in person. But those days are now officially over.

WrestleCon confirmed that Sting’s appearance in Minneapolis during SummerSlam 2026 weekend would be different. And when he showed up, he was completely without face paint. The official WrestleCon account shared the news on X, revealing that the wrestling icon would be appearing exclusively on Friday, July 31st, from 4pm to 8pm.

The announcement also featured a fresh photo of Sting looking unrecognizable at first glance. He still held his signature baseball bat, but his clean face was front and center. Sources say this is a full no-paint version of Sting, following his decision to retire the character-based look for good after late 2025.

It is a bold new chapter for a man who spent over three decades hiding behind one of the most famous masks in sports entertainment. Fans at the event got to meet the man behind the legend for the very first time.
