She Had a Choice, But Revenge Was the Only Option—Liv Morgan Explains Why She Picked Stephanie Vaquer
Liv Morgan could have taken the easy road to WrestleMania 42. Instead, she chose violence.
After winning the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble, Morgan had the golden ticket to challenge Jade Cargill for the Women’s Championship in Las Vegas. It was the obvious move. The marquee match. But Morgan decided to pivot, setting her sights on Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer—and now she’s finally explaining why she made the switch.
In a candid chat on the Reality of Wrestling podcast, Morgan didn’t hold back. While many fans expected a showdown with Cargill, Morgan made it clear that this wasn’t just about gold. It was personal.

“I went for Stephanie for a multitude of reasons,” Morgan said. “One, she put her hands on Daddy Dom. Two, she is terrorizing my sister Raquel Rodriguez. Three, she tried to embarrass me and diminish all my hard work and accomplishments over the last 12 years of my career. And so, I am excited to personally inform her at WrestleMania.”
For Morgan, this marks just her second singles match on WrestleMania’s grand stage. For Vaquer, it’s a career milestone—her first-ever match at the showcase of the immortals.
As for Cargill? She didn’t end up without an opponent. Rhea Ripley punched her ticket by winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber, setting up a high-stakes collision between two powerhouses.
But all eyes are now on Morgan and Vaquer. One is fighting for respect. The other is fighting to prove she belongs. And when they meet in April, Morgan says she’s looking forward to delivering a message in person—no filters, no regrets.
