Matt Hardy Just Dropped a Major Hint About Brock Lesnar’s WWE Return

Let’s be honest. When Brock Lesnar took off his boots and gloves at WrestleMania 42, the whole wrestling world thought that was it. The final goodbye. The emotional hug with Paul Heyman felt like the closing of a legendary chapter.

But according to the one person who helped build The Beast from day one, do not hang that retirement sign just yet.

Matt Hardy, who was essentially Brock’s first major rival, just made a prediction that has WWE fans buzzing. Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show, Hardy didn’t mince words. When asked if Lesnar was truly done, Matt said he believes we will absolutely see Brock Lesnar back in a WWE ring.

“I don’t know, I think we’ll see him again,” Hardy stated.

For those who missed it, Lesnar’s last match was a shocking squash loss to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42. It was a strange, abrupt end for a killer. Michael Cole confirmed the retirement the next night on Raw, but Hardy isn’t buying it. He knows Brock too well.

Why Matt Hardy’s Opinion Actually Matters

Most talking heads can speculate. Matt Hardy can speak from experience. Before Brock was “The Conqueror” or the youngest champion in WWE history, he was a raw, 24-year-old rookie who needed someone credible to destroy. The Hardy Boyz were those guys.

Think back to Backlash 2002. Jeff Hardy didn’t get pinned by Lesnar. The referee stopped the fight because Jeff couldn’t answer. The same thing happened to Matt the very next night on Raw. No pinfalls. No submissions. Just absolute, terrifying domination.

That referee stoppage—the “TKO” presentation—was genius. It told the audience: This guy is not a normal wrestler. He is a different beast. Matt and Jeff sacrificed their bodies to make that point clear.

The Blueprint for Success

WWE used the Hardy Boyz to build the “Next Big Thing” brand. They had tag matches, singles squashes, and even a moment where Brock literally threw Matt through a wall on SmackDown.

That setup work rarely gets the credit it deserves. The milestones—King of the Ring, beating The Rock—are famous. But without Matt Hardy selling that Lesnar was unstoppable, the rocket push might have failed.

The Verdict on Lesnar’s Future

So, why would Brock come back? Because professional wrestlers rarely retire on a squash match loss. The Beast Incarnate is a prideful guy.

If Matt Hardy—the man who helped lay the groundwork for Lesnar’s career—says a return is coming, it is worth listening to. Whether it is for one more fight with a new monster or a final victory lap, do not be surprised if those gloves come back out of the bag.

Brock Lesnar left the boots in the ring. But he never actually said goodbye.
