WWE Star Cody Rhodes Admits He’s Getting Tired of All the Record-Breaking News and Feels Fans Might Stop Caring

Cody Rhodes has a theory about all those record-breaking attendance announcements and viewership numbers flooding your social media feed every week.

While appearing on the podcast “What Do You Want To Talk About,” the Undisputed WWE Champion opened up about how the constant stream of backstage stats and business updates might actually be pushing fans away. He admitted that while he loves the success WWE is having right now, the non-stop documentation of everything is starting to feel like too much.

Rhodes reflected on an old event from IPW UK with Kit Wilson and found himself questioning why everyone needs to know the exact number of people in the seats.

His point is simple: fans just want to enjoy the show. They want to like or dislike the characters. They don’t necessarily need a spreadsheet.

Cody compared it to his love for Star Wars, saying he purposely avoids behind-the-scenes details because they ruin the magic for him. He questioned who the constant barrage of “record gates” and “ratings” is truly for. While he acknowledges the business is doing great right now, he worries that an overload of information will eventually lead to a place where fans simply stop caring about the numbers and just tune out.
